Hi, I'm Lacey

Boom, getting ready to leave for school again. Here is an outfit post with this beautiful little lace shirt I got from Forever 21. This last pose was just for my mother who wanted me to do "something different" and not just stand there.

Nightly Skincare

As many of us have realized during our teen years, skincare is extremely important. In order to have healthy skin we must take care of it. Along with skincare products a healthy lifestyle is equally important. Eating lean and making sure to take in fruits and vegetables as well as daily vitamins all help improve the quality of skin (don't forget to exercise and water, water, water!). Here I wanted to share what I do at night in order to wake up with fresh (and improved) skin in the morning. Though I have been quite lucky with my skin I have had episodes of very bad flareups. This routine might not be for everyone but I hope it helps!

To start off with, at night I will brush my teeth, put all my hair back using a headband, and tie the rest into a bun or braid. Once that is done I will cleanse my face twice using 1. Jan Marini Bioglycolic Face Cleanser (it is a very gentle cleanser but honestly for the price I would rather just buy Cetaphil which is much cheaper and does the same. I'm stuck with this until I finish the bottle). After I have wiped my face clean with a moist cloth I will wipe it with 2. Yes to Cucumbers Facial Towlettes to ensure that all my makeup has been taken off. Once a week I will use 3. Biologique Recherche Lotion P50 1970. This is a liquid exfoliant which sloughs off all the dead skin cells on the top layer of your skin (exfoliation is so important! This helps to take off the layer of dead skin and bacteria that is sitting on your face and can clog your pores. I reccomend liquid rather than exfolints which have beads etc due to the ability the beads have in spreading bacteria). Though the smell is not the most pleasant and it is a bit harsh (that is why I recommend to do this once a week) you will wake up with baby soft skin. If I have exfoliated I will skip 4. and go straight to my coconut oil 5. If I have not exfoliated then I will use my prescribed acne medication called 4. Epiduo so that if I see any spots coming up I will be able to stop them. Finally in order to moisturize my face I will use 5. Organic Virgin Coconut Oil. Since I have oily/combination skin I would have never thought to use an oil on my skin at night as a moisturizer. Turns out that the coconut oil (and I believe this is due to it being so natural) has caused me to break out less and has left my skin nourished and moisturized when I wake up in the morning. Make sure to only use a very small amount! (I usually just put a bit on my fingertips and rub it on my T-zone and a bit on my cheeks. And that is all! I believe that the simpler your skin routine is the more grateful your skin will be and the more changes you will see.

People are Strange

Phew phew, it has been a busy week. While this weekend was full of family and world cup viewing, last weekend was a hectic 4th. Well this outfit has a bit of everything going on. I do have to say I always felt I was taller, these prove otherwise. Ok, not much novelty besides that. Hope you enjoy these!

Lace

Guess who's back? Back again. But really. Hello to whomever reads my blog! I'm grateful you stopped by. With summer and whatnot don't we all wish we could just relax? Yes I had a couple of relaxing days but the reason I have been missing is because of my job/internship, call it what you may. The good thing is I love what I am doing, but unfortunately all I want to do when I go home is relax and not see a computer. Anyway, that is the reason why I haven't been posting as much (you're probably thinking I'm not much of a dedicated blogger. I try... most of the time). Recently at work we had a photo shoot for Aqualina, where we took pictures for the hotel's books (i.e. the books that are in each room which tell you about the features of the hotel, brands which are sold there etc.). I'll ask if some of the pictures can be put up here. Aside from that I have been learning a lot about webdesign, photoshop and indesign (and cooking too!). Well, I'll be back with more soon. 'Till then.

P.S. Excuse the odd way my images are taken, self-timer and no tripod can only capture so much.

Mira quien regreso!

Hunter Green

Goodbye winter, Hola summer! Praise be that the weather has finally turned around for the better. Though there is the occassional rainstorm I feel the humidity and heat coming and I wait for it with an open embrace. Along with the heat comes summer. Packing up and finishing this year has been something incredible. While working in Florida will be fun (sun, my pale skin awaits your unforgiving burning rays), I look forward to coming back in autumn (with more excitement as it gets closer to that month because right now I am more than ready to leave!). Anywho, here are a couple of pictures I took when it was still cold. The really long brownish sweater I'm wearing is from Urban Outfitters and I can't get enough of it. While I'm not big on hats, why the heck not wear one once in a while? All that pink hair I had going on is almost gone! Now they are subtle salmon-y highlights which I am not sad to part with at all.
