To All Our Special Ladies

Mothers Day. The official holiday to commemorate the women who work for us, who sometimes enslave us, and who we will never forget. Though many mothers believe it should be an everyday thing (which it pracitcally is) we will still save this date to make our mothers know how much we appreciate them. Our special ladies who turned us into the people we are today deserve medals for the job they do. Bravo to all of you, we still love you even when you drive us to the brinks of madness.

Día de las madres. Un día donde oficialmente todo el mundo les dice a sus madres que las quieren. Un día para conmemorar las mujeres que trabajan para nosotros, que algunas veces nos vuelven sus esclavos, y que nunca nos podremos olvidar de. Aunque este día a ellas les parece que debería ser todos los días (y casi lo es!), todavía lo reservamos para agradecerlas por todo lo que nos han dado. Estas mujeres nos convirtieron en las personas que somos ahora. Se merecen medallas por el trabajo que hacen. Bravo a todas las madres, las amamos aunque algunas veces nos vuelven locos.

Met Ball?

Aside from my usual outfit posts I thought this one would pique the interest of the fashion curios yet unenlightened. I myself, in all my ignorance, stumbled across what the Met Ball truly was just a couple of minutes ago. While I saw pictures last night on Instagram and thought "Ahh, these stars getting all dressed up for anoth... Wait why is Nicole Richie sporting lavender whitish hair and why does Madonna look like one of  Gwen Stefani's Harajuku girls?" According to the ever so trusty Wikipidea "the Met Ball or Met Gala, is an annual ball that celebrates the annual opening of the Metropolitan Museum's (The Met) fashion exhibit at the Costume Institute.^[1][2] The red carpet evening where celebrities arrive dressed to impress is described as the fashion industry's "Night of Nights".^[3] Fashion industry experts and style magazines consider the event, which is hosted by Vogue, to be the fashion world's best red carpet event.^["  (check out that copy past action.) So celebrities and fashion icons go all out in beyond interesting garments. I think of them more as pieces of art rather than outfits (this way I can actually appreciate the designs instead of saying Dear God what were they thinking?). With editorial makeup (on some) and the "greatest designs" adorning them all, there is not much to say. Though there were a couple that I liked, most of them just left me baffled (I'm not naming names, Miley Cyrus, or making comparisons, Congrats to Kim Kardashian who earned her spot as a rose bush). Yet, they were much appreciated and not to mention entertaining (because who needs to study anyway?) Check out the outfits for yourselves and make your own opinions.

Mexican Feel

A couple of days ago at work we were putting away some samples and my boss told me to shop around and see if there was anything I would like to take. Clothes are sometimes a preferred payment method for someone like me. Anyway, from the few items I took with me this was one of the items I was least convinced about. When I first saw it I immediatley fell in love with the pattern which reminded me of Mexico, yet I wasn't sure if I would wear it. Well, I paired this WESTON WEAR dress with some ROCKET DOG knitted flats, a turqoise cross double ring from ALDO, my white CHANEL watch, ALDO skull earrings, and a jean jacket from FOREVER 21. I was extremely pleased with the feedback at school and decided right then and there that this dress would be out all summer. It's airy, colorful, and different. Summer here I come!

Hace como tres días estaba guardando ropa en el trabajo para devolverla cuando mi jefa me dijo que me 
podía llevar algunas cosas. Me pagaron la mitad del día en ropa que para mi fue perfecto. Este vestido fue una de los cosas que la verdad no estaba muy convencida de que realmente me haya gustado. Pero me la puse y viola! Es de WESTON WEAR y la use con una chaqueta de blue jean de FOREVER 21, unos zapatos tejidos de ROCKET DOG, unos zarcillos de ALDO, mi reloj de CHANEL, y mi anillo de cruz color turquesa de ALDO. Cuando en el colegio me dijeron que se veía bonito el vestido decidí que iba a usarlo mucho este verano. Los colores son bellos y me recuerdan mucho a los colores que verías en México. Es comodisimo y estoy lista para el verano!

Meaning Business

I had an award ceremony in school a couple of days ago. It said to wear business attire/dress nice and I came up with this outfit. My super straight hair (which I got permanantly) was a luxury (in the humid climate I live in my hair can only survive for about 30 mintues). Even with its "permanance" right after I washed it I had my normal waves, except now they are less frizzy and easier to tame. Back to the outfit, the shirt I am wearing is from ANTHROPOLOGIE. I saw it and thought "wow I will probably resemble somebody's mother in this" yet when I tried it on I really liked it. It cinches the waist with a belt that is the same material of the shirt and creates a peplum bottom. It also has a collar to it. Next time I might add a bright belt to change it up. The pants are the black ones from my "Don't Stop 'Till You Get Enough" post. My shoes are very old and are not in stores anymore but I adore them, they are covered in studs and metal on the back of the heel. Finally my accessories which were my favoirte part. I am wearing 1 horn necklace from ALDO and a wishbone one from NORDSTROM. They are such a perfect pair and I had been on a mad hunt for the wishbone one. My purse is from STEVE MADDEN. Well now that was a nice juicy post, I hope you enjoyed!

En mi colegio tuvieron unos premios y la invitación decía que te tenias que venir bien vestido. Entonces con eso decidí vestirme así. Mi camisa la encontre en ANTHROPOLOGIE y cuando la vi pensé  "Voy a parecer una vieja" pero me la probé y me encanto! La correa con que viene hace que se te vea una cinturita enana. Creo que la próxima ves usare una correa que sea de un color fuerte y capas unos pantalones blancos. Los pantalones que tengo puesto son viejos y eran de mi mama. Mis zapatos ya no los venden pero los amo! Todo el tacón esta cubierto de metal. Honestamente son uno de los únicos pares de tacones que tengo. El pelo me lo alise permanentemente porque con la humedad que hay en Florida es imposible tener el pelo liso (aunque cuando me bañé el pelo quedo casi idéntico a como era antes excepto que ahora es mas fácil secarlo). Mis accesorios son lo que mas amo de este look. El collar azul es de ALDO y el otro es de NORSTROM. Van bellos, y mi cartera es STEVE MADDEN. Bueno no he escrito tanto en mucho tiempo, espero que hayan disfrutado!

Color for Dreary Weather

Due to the terrible weather and shopping I had done over the weekend, I decided to make my Monday brighter. I wore my white ZARA crochet top with a pair of old white pants and a GAP undershirt. My accessories were all from ALDO, where the majority were buy 2 for 1. Though it doesn't include everything I bought my neon bracelets, amazing earrings, mid-finger rings, and my sunnies are from NORDSTROM RACK. For school I wore the outfit with my SAM EDELMAN MILLY flats and I lined my eyes with URBAN DECAY shadow stick in MORPHINE. Enjoy c:

Como hoy el día estuvo horrible, y era lunes, decidí vestirme con colores que resaltaran. Me puse mi camisa blanca que había comprando en ZARA España con una camisa de GAP por abajo y unos pantalones blancos viejos. Todos mis accesorios son de ALDO que incluye: mis pulseras, mis zarcillos, y mis anillos (casi todo a 2 por 1). Mis lentes son de NOTDSTROM RACK. Para usarlo a el colegio me puse mis zapatillas de SAM EDELMAN que se llaman MILLY en el plateado de arriba. También me delineé los ojos con URBAN DECAY en color MORPHINE. Disfruten c:

F21 Haul

 Decided to do some summer shopping on Friday. Went to Forever21 and was not dissapointed in my search for summer clothes. I love the lace detailing on these and the bright colors. The shorts are the same except in different colors. They're high waisted and simply adorable. The summer feeling just keeps getting nearer and nearer!


Decidí salir de compras el viernes en búsqueda de cosas para el verano. Fui a Forever21 y conseguí justo lo que necesitaba. Me encantan estas camisas bordeadas, los detalles son bellisimos. También me encanta como resaltan los colores. Los shorts son iguales excepto en colores distintos. Son altos y se ven súper bien. Ya, poco a poco esta llegando el verano!
